I work for one morning a week in our local hospital as a play
Speciaist( US term : Child Life Worker)I have the opportunity to
teach some art skills to individual children. The scrubbing brush technique is
always used by the chikdren even into secondary cshool age. No one
has ever taught them that there is a more effecient way. So to with
many art skills. Because of the "don't interfere" approach children
have never been allowed to develop skills in the fear that their
their work will "suffer" from Adult interference. There is a happy
medium and children will respond well to guidance and they
appreciate it. I teach kids how to use a hammer too when we do our
wood constructions. Where is the difference?
