Thank you for your clarification. I thought that was what you meant but
something about the way you stated it confused me. But then I am getting old.
You have brought up a point that is a sore one for me. I began as an art major
and changed to Art Education as a senior. Then I went immediately back to
graduate school to learn more art. Most Art teachers do not have the formal
training to adequately teach the principles of design or the intricacies of
process. And what I have seen of elementary methods courses are still at the
level I observed back in the dark ages. THEY TEACH THEM HOW TO TEACH PROJECTS
NOT ART! I suspect the the middle and high school methods courses are the
same. IF they have those methods courses. We need to improve teacher
preparation. Now. Any suggestions?
