Every spring our K-6 Elementary School has an "Evening of the Arts" that
is coordinated by our 2 gifted/talented (part-time) specialists,
1instrumental and 1 vocal music specialists, and also myself, a K-6 art
specialist. The evening is held in our very small auditorium and
consists of a variety of student vocal and instrumental ensembles,
poetry readings, dramatic presentations, dance performances and a large
of selection of K-6 art work displayed on the walls. We have in the
past, judged the art work and have had an awards ceremony during the
Evening of the Arts...we are getting away from that now. We have had
interdisciplinary performances with musical compositions that were
written by students that were in turn interpreted by other students
through various art mediums....we have had visiting artists work with
students prior to the "Evening" on different arts disciplines and then
had performances centered around those sessions. This year we are
looking for something "new" to try....does anyone have any suggestions
that they have used in their own Student Art Shows, Fine Arts Nights,
etc.??? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
