I have a personal objection to being charged so many times for one service.
But put that aside. What about all the schools who are barely able to provide
this service for their students. As a teacher I consider the online research
facilities a wonderful opportunity for my students. We can go directly to
current information in a matter of minutes. Students are excited about doing
research. If yet another cost is added to the cost of technology for schools,
how much farther behind can we expect to lag? As a professional I will be
forced to check my budget before corresponding with the other professionals on
my listserv. I can't even begin to enumerate the many things I have learned as
a member of this particular group. And I will have to limit how many times I
check the National Department of Education or National Art Education
Association web sites for updated information. I could go on but after all I
am paying by the minute.
