Last week I gave all my classes a slip of paper each and ask them to spend
5 minutes writing down thoughts about..."ART IS...................." I got
fabulous responses (I'm going to display many of them in the library next
week along-side other artwork). I'm going to shuffle a few on the
principal's desk too. Take a small peek at some I gathered....

Art is the colors and textures of your imagination. Meghan (7th grade)

Art is like a flower. You start with a bud, then it starts to blossom and
becomes a materpiece. Eric (7th)

Art is the incredible site that is played in our minds. Tim (6th)

Art is an adventure that never seems to end. Jason (8th)

Art is an opening into a new and colorful world. Dave (8th)

Art is an etching of one's heart which inspires all on-lookers to
appreciate the artist. Cara (8th)

Art is a mirror reflecting your style, your values...the way you see the world.
Cara (8th)

(I'm going to write this the way he wrote it! Hee, Hee) Art is a very cozy
feeling. It soothes me. It raises my self of steam. It is beautiful. Jason
(8th)

Art is a way to let your mind wonder and explore new ideas. Mia (7th)

Art is all the colors in a painting, all the lines in the street ahead of
you, the design of a building, the scribbles of a little child. Art can be
anything. Jolene (7th)

Because of the different textures and beautiful colors, art intensifies life.
Haley (6th)

Art is a memory put into lines that will last forever. Andy (7th)

Art is everything you wanted to be and are. Whitney (7th)

(My two personal favorites...)

Art is a picture with glories untold...colors that swirl, shapes that
dance, symbols with meaning to different people because the artist wanted
it that way.
Sarah (7th)

Art is a shadow of what a person is thinking...a small glimpse of what they
hold inside. Little secrets, regrets, joys...every line has its own
meaning. Sarah (7th)

I couldn't say it better myself!!!!!!!! Cya..............
