Concerning the thematic class on flying - (I am assuming that you are working
on integration rather than just art, but even so, the following ideas can be
used in "art class.")

How about these directions in flying - drawings by Leonardo daVinci. Study of
the Wright Brothers. Structure of bird wings (how DO they fly?) Bees (HOW do
THEY fly?!) Airplane design. Helicopter design. Space capsule design.
Science, math and art are such naturals for integrating thematically.

Or, as far as painting, Marc Chagall's dreamlike paintings have such
wonderful imagery. That relates back to the dream flying some of you were
talking about.

Have fun with your project. I'd love to see the finished product.
