on the more humorous side of art educationn...
I have a first grader that continually puts small erasers in his ears
(but it's OK because he cleans his ears every day) and the smelly
markers up his nose (my mom lets me do it). After several days of this
and with his runny nose the water based scented multi-colored marker ink
running down his face, I finally said, well, I guess I'll call your
mom. He freaked (he is very dramatic) and swore he'd never do it
again. (his teacher said that he would remember this for 5 min.)
It's those challenges that make the day exciting.
