My kids (my own personal ones) couldn't buy rubber cement because you have
to be 18 to buy it in Nev. and we bought a product in the grocery store
which is brand "Ross" Rubber Cement Glu. It says it is non-toxic and
water cleanup. It definitely stinks--sort of ammonia like smell. It is
also non-flammable. One year I had a particularly exciting event--some
kids(students) behind me were reading"hmm flammable--I wonder if it really
is" then the next thing I heard was a giant whoooshe!! and they had a
column of fire going up to the ceiling. They had painted a drawing board
with cement and lit it. Since that time I never turn my back on the
majority of students and try to arrange the room so that this is possible.
