I've been reading "Mouse Paint" and kind of dramatizing it with paint on
paper. Then kids then do a similar project with different colors
combinations of paint in different corners of a large white sheet of finger
paint paper. (Add a tad of starch to paint for a nice consistency) Mix with
a finger.
Also fun for kindergarten is food color in white shaving cream and "paint"
the table.
