I had a student several years ago who suffered from Thay SaksSP? and I was
really amazed to see her self portrait. After we had a lot of discussion
about using your right brain and just letting your hand follow what your
eyes travel over she drew a picture where her right ear and eye and hair
were drawn in
reasonable detail on the right side, and her left ear etc. on the left and
there was about a 12 inch hole (blank) in the center of the paper. I asked
her if she didn't want to connect the two sides and she sort of looked
confused and then said ok and did so. When I talked to her mother and LD
teacher they were really fascinated because she had said there was a hole
in what she saw and it was really helpful for them and her neurologist to
see her image. She was losing her vision and with her drawing they
understood what was going on.
