Oh it was sooo nice today during 4th grade art class. We had just finished
a discussion on the various parts of the body and the way the body moved.
Added to that we focused on the porportion of each of these areas as well.
We looked at Leonardo's and other artists' renditions of the human figure
and discussed the importance of proportion and compared these with the greek
etc...... you know the drill...

Anyway, I was monitoring the classroom as they began their own sketches
when a student exclaimed to her table, you know, we are studying the body
in so many areas, in our own class, we are learning about the insides of
our body, in music we are studying the larynx, in pe we are studying the
muscles of the body and in art we are studying the whole body. Boy,
we are going to know a lot about the body after all of this!

Quick where is a tape recorder?!!!!!

When planning a unit of instruction, it is amazing what a little bit
of talk and sharing can do between teachers to help students connect.
