It is an interesting concept. This is the sort of connection between
child art and other forms of expression which need researching and
developing. The images children produce are a useful guide to
concept development when assessing the child as a whole but if there
is a clue that future reading problems may occur then drawings a s a
diognostic tool could be more accepted. I know of a paediatrician who
uses the De Leo system as a guide and asks his patients to draw
whenever they visit. These drawings then become part of the
continuous patient record.
