1) anything to promote the art program to keep it safe and
secure for budget cuts is strongly recommended.
2) advertising to promote the benefits of the art program
is a plus
3) an advertisement could lead to grants, extra monies,
donations, etc because the donators can see the benefits
of the monies they will be donating
With regards to process versus product and advertising:
I place photos all over the school, in newsletters, send home, etc of students
making the artworks, engaged in conversations, critiquing, and hanging of
the artwork. Additionally, the writings that result from the artwork are
also displayed. During the assessment process of the unit of instruction,
the process can also be examined through a written document describing what
they learned, how they created, what connections the students made.
Advertisement can come in many forms, not just the displaying of the end
