The middle school art teacher in our district has switched from using
rubber cement to using Tri-Tex rubber cream glue. It can be applied with
your fingers, dries clear, and can be rubbed off (similar to rubber
cement) when it is dry. It does not contain the harmful fumes that
rubber cement does. I believe that Dick Blick and Sax Arts and Crafts
both carry this product. You can purchase it in several different sized
containers. Give it a try.
