Mentioning textbook money brings to mind a thought that has been bugging
me. Say an English text costs maybe $40.00. It will be used for 9 years
perhaps. Also the English teaching is getting maybe $150.00 a year
supplementary. That's just over $4.00 a year cost on books plus the
supplementar money.

It seems like if an art teacher doesn't get texts then $4.00 a year per
pupil (plus the extra money)
should be a fair enough start, the equivalent of textbook money plus the
supplementary money other teachers get. Is there a flaw in my reasoning?
(I have proposed this at my school but admin. doesn't see it that way.)
