I agree with you whole-heartedly. Creativity and divergent thinking =
are either undervalued or discouraged in many academic subjects. I =
find it so interesting that many of the students labeled ED, "at =
risk" or the "trouble-makers" are often some of my most talented =
kids. The arts are an area where they can excel. It truly is a sad =
thing when the arts are cut back or eliminated=AD for all kids, but =
especially those kids who can't be reached through the rigid "right =
answer" academic approaches.
