My 8th-grade art students really enjoy learning about Surrealism & I have
them render a couple of works in this style. I've been doing the same thing
for several years & am looking for new ideas. Anyone? One of the projects
I have the students do is to take a common object (a magazine clipping) &
place it in an unusual & unexpected environment. Also, does anyone have any
input on studying Pop Art? My classes take 2 soda cans, draw them actual
size & then use a frame to select just a portion of the drawing. This is
enlarged & finished with colored pencils. This project is a big hit with my
kids (especially the ones who think they "can't draw"). So, I'm just
looking for creative input from you guys. Thanks & have a happy new year!

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes.
Art is knowing which ones to keep.
