One book that covers every artist on your limited list except Judy Chicago
is "Making Their Mark: Women Artists Move into the Mainstream, 1970-85" by
Randy Rosen and Catherine C. Brawer, published by Abbeville Press in 1989;
ISBN 1-55859-161-3. Judy Chicago has written two autobiographies, an early
one entitled "Through the Flower" of 1975 and the most recent one entitled
"Beyond the Flower" of 1996. She has also published a book on her "Dinner
Party" that was recently published.
If you want specific references for Mary Frank, Deborah Butterfield, and
Jennifer Bartlett, I have catalogues and/or books on each of these artists.
I don't know how specific you would like to be. If you wish further
information on these or any others, e-mail me and I will try to help you
with further references. Good luck on your project - I would like to hear
more about it.
