In reference to Leon Nuell's comments, that children are not artists...
This opens a broader issue involving the use and meaning of visual images
for expressive purposes, whether from a child's hands or from the hands of
self-taught artists. The world of the visual artist is being changed
dramatically by a widely growing acceptance in academic circles of
self-taught, visionary, "outsider" work to the art work created through
electronic means for virtual existence. There is a paradigm shift in the
works and it's exciting.
