There's a new way to reduce the volume of mail you receive from
ArtsEdNet Talk. We have now implemented the ArtsEdNet Talk - Digest,
which significantly reduces the total number of ArtsEdNet messages
you receive and makes it very easy to identify which messages are
from the discussion group.

The digest version collects ArtsEdNet Talk messages and bundles them
into a single message, which it sends to you when the total file size
reaches a set limit. Right now, given the average size of the
messages coming to ArtsEdNet Talk, each Digest usually contains
around 8 individual e-mail messages and comes out about once a day.
The digest messages have a subject that starts with ArtsEdNet-Digest,
so it is easy to pick them out of your e-mail inbox.

In order to respond to any of the messages you read in the digest you
must send e-mail to either the ArtsEdNet Talk group or to the
individual who posted the message in the same way that you have been
doing so far.

We also plan to put a copy of the discussion on the ArtsEdNet web
site soon, using software that will provide a threaded view of the
discussion as well as the ability to sort messages by date, author
and subject. This software is not sophisticated but it seems useful
and we will be interested in hearing what you think. In the longer
term we hope to acquire some of the newly emerging conferencing
software built for web environments. A number of software packages
are due out this year, and we will evaluate them as they emerge. In
the meantime I hope that some of you find that using the Digest form
of ArtsEdNet Talk helps reduce your e-mail inbox overload.

Warm regards,
Candy
