Poet Laureate Robert Hass, the Library of Congress, the Orion Society
and a coalition of water resource organizations, invite K-12 students to
submit poems and posters on the theme WATERSHEDS. The RIVER OF
WORDS project hopes to nurture respect and understanding of the
natural world by encouraging children to express in words and images,
their own place in space. Classroom activities, posters, curriculum
guides will be available to assist teachers and students in preparing
work for entry to the contest.
