Between the Stacks: A Behind the Scenes Look at the Sketchbook Project

Wednesday, Feb 29
Departure Time:  10:00 am    Return Time:  Approximately 2:00 pm

Wow! It's like a concert tour except with sketchbooks! Thousands of
sketchbooks have been created by individuals from all over the world.
These are exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on
tour.  After the tour, all sketchbooks enter into the permanent
collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they are barcoded and
available for the public to view. While The Brooklyn Art Library will
be closed especially for this, come visit with a group of others
interested in the project and the process of sketchbooks without the
hassle of transportation on your own. Take advantage of this rare
opportunity to have presentations by Co-Founder Steven Peterman and
the staff of Art House Co-op. They will discuss the development of the
Sketchbook Project, this international, traveling exhibition of artist
sketchbooks. Highlights will include past group entries, books that
push the boundaries of the project, children's sketchbooks, as well as
collaborative books. Personalized library cards that enable you to
access the reference library of 10,000 sketchbooks will be provided.
Additionally, included as part of the registration, each attendee will
receive a sketchbook and pre-paid entry to participate in an amazing
current Art House Project. Please note: A meal is not provided with
this session.
