We have started having our students do altered books, the library provides us with their discarded books, the kids have a great time doing these, we are working on a list of ideas for them to do in their books. They really love doing them, and they make a great "pick it up and work when you have time" project to fill in for those who get projects done quickly. They also make a great project to use supplies up that you just have a bit of but not enough for a whole class project. I also find it a great way to use scrap paper, magazines, lamination cut-outs (all that extra plastic makes great clear pages!)
