I use Ning as well. I like that I can create a network, have all my students
join, then make it private so only my classroom has access (if you have the
exact URL you can see it, but you can't search for it so it's not 100%
private). I post a topic & students are required to respond to my comment
and one comment made under that topic. I am constantly amazed at how readily
students will converse with one another electronically when they may feel
intimidated in class discussion.
