I am looking for some clay whistle advice - I learned to make these years ago and even taught a one day workshop once upon a time. But for some reason the ability to make a whistle has eluded me. I have some instructions from a book, but although I get the principal of making a wedge shaped hole for the air to pass over, I can't seem to make my whistles - whistle.
Does anyone have any helpful hints - does the clay need to be leather hard before I cut the whole or is there some other tool besides a pencil or a popsicle stick I should be using? an exacto blade perhaps? Any advice is appreciated, as I've already agreed to do another workshop in a few weeks - ack!
