Definitely inspire them with the artist images with also a brief review of what the objective/goals are for the project. Now being away from their project you might also talk about "refining" if they see something they want to change now. I caution when explaining "refining" does not redoing. You may not want them to now totally redo the project so they might need to be told that due to time issues.

Since you are moving from a 3D illusional 2D format in using perspective you might consider doing something 3D in nature. A small stable (Alexander Calder) like. Using cardboard, matt board. They could be painted all black or all white. The focus is the use of space and shapes to define the area.

Just and idea.
