This quarter I am teaching a High School class of ELL students, levels
0, 1 and 2 (meaning they hardly speak any English). The studetns are
predominantly Somali and Oromo. The biggest problem is that the Somali
boys in particular are outraged that they are in art and want to be in a
"real" class. I am wondering how I can help them learn to value art,
without language- as they don't seem to value art and I don't have a
language to explain things here.
Anyone have any ideas??????
