Take a look at www.dorodango.com/
This site describes an art form introduced in Japanese primary
schools...with amazing results. If you Google "dorodango" there are a
number of interesting sites, including one with directions. I have not
taught this but some of our TAB middle school teachers have it offered
as an ongoing choice among other options. One thing they noticed was
the attachment the students grew to have for their pieces and the
meditative quality of the process.
