I've been reading this list for a long time, but haven't written. This is my
second year at a newly built high school. We have no AP in our county in any
subject right now. I was considering starting an AP class and I took AP
training this summer. They showed us that we could register on the
Collegeboard site

do)as an educator, and see many samples for each category. You do not have
to have an AP program in place at your school to register. There are samples
for each year going back to 2002. For each year, the samples are graded.
They show examples for each passing score, from 3 to 6.

There is a slide show you can get from College Board or your local AP
people. If you don't have any luck requesting one, email me off list
with a mailing address and I'll copy mine for you.
It is tremendously helpful, especially when my students get
unmotivated and/or lazy, to show the successful portfolio examples to
them. They usually get back in gear really quickly. :)
