Here is a link to a project I do with my 7th graders
every year. THey design a poster for their community.
It relates it to Toulouse Lautrec and how he made
posters art for the first time. It talks about how to
critique one of his posters looking for elements of
art, etc.

THere is a nice worksheet ( in the appendix) you can
have the kids fill out about the place you want them
to design about giving them things to think about how
to create and design a poster. My classes do a great
job. I keep them year to year and display them side by
side. We have very colorful posters. I use the paper
we cut for bulletin boards so you can have any color.
THen I have them use tempera paints, sharpie markers
and they print a 2x2 linoleum cutout all around the
edge. I design per person in the group. Usually 3 or 4
in each poster group. Hope this helps.
