Peter Gorham told me about this site.
Fine Art Adoption Network
http://www.fineartadoption.net/
"FAAN is an online network, which uses a gift economy to connect
artists and potential collectors. All of the artworks on view are
available for adoption. This means acquiring an artwork without
purchasing it, through an arrangement between the artist and
collector. Our goal is to help increase and diversify the population
of art owners and to offer artists new means for engaging their
audience."
Peter is having trouble getting his posts through - so he asked me to
post it for him.
From Peter:
My class has been adopting art for our school as well I have used this
site to adopt art to use in our classroom . If you go to the site have
a look at the adoption story for Brece Honeycutts piece "summer list"
to read some of our story using this original art in our classroom.
