Stacie,
I applaud your lesson and wish you a world of luck.
Yet, I have always had a problem with the word "tolerance".
Back in the early 60's when I was in High School, the teachers
were trying to teach "tolerance", a laudable objective. But, I
objected even then by telling my teachers that we should be
learning to love one another rather than to tolerate each other.
To me tolerance has always meant putting up with something I'd
rather not be exposed to. I tolerate liver and onions to be
polite, but I love my neighbor because it feels like the
right thing to do.
Just the opinion of this old secular/humanist putting
his two cents in. Best of luck, Woody
