conference, or do I just show up in the room I've been assigned to and
go for
it!>>

Yes, you just show up! I have been presenting at national since almost
every year since 1996 and have had many adventures! We usually check
on the room as soon as we get registered...take a peek in and see how
it is arranged. you may want to drag chairs around and so on before
your session. The tricky part is when your presentation takes place.
If another session is just before yours, it is quite likely that it may
run over into the time you plan for setting up...the sessions are
really tightly scheduled. It is great when there is no one in the room
just before you! The same thing happens at the end of your
presentation...in some cases there will be another group chafing at the
door, ready to come in and set up their materials. I have seen people
selling materials at national, but again, it depends on if someone else
needs your room right away.

I have never had any trouble with the equipment; perhaps I have been
fortunate. Did you check off equipment choices on your conference
proposal? Often there are "tecchi guys" roaming around helping hook up
computers, projection machines, etc. Again, you might want to touch
base with one of them in advance of your session.

My best advice is to relax and enjoy the experience. If you have good
material and a clear way of saying your piece you will find listeners
to be a lot like you and happy to hear you.

What are you presenting and when?
See you all in Chicago!!
