Thanks Ann for sharing those fun lessons for Stacie.

I thought I would post Linda Woods site. These lessons are done with
elementary but certainly can be adapted to middle school. Take a look
at St. Johns Lower School Gallery:
http://www.sjs.org/stories/default.asp?L2=3&newsid=44754

Linda just added new 5th grade Mixed Breed animals - done with colored
pencils on black paper - then cut out an mounted on fade less paper
for contrast.

See the Klimt inspired magical trees. Many images of Klimt's Tree of
Life can be found on line. These 5th grade drawings are done with oil
pastels. Some of you might even have those metallic oil pastels - or
metallic pencils

Linda added new horse drawings (third grade). Students could draw any
animal they wished. Linda showed many images of the horse in art
through the ages.

Underwater scenes are a bit hit with her thrid grade. I did fish with
6th and 7th grade.... they loved it.

Stacie - if the middle school lessons you find seem too hard for your
students, try stepping up some elementary ones. It is important for
lessons to match the ability level of the students.
