I like the Crayola Construction Paper crayons (and I know I'm not alone in
this), but as for their regular crayons...I am of the impression that they
are lower in quality than the Prangs. I have used the soy crayons for
texture rubbings at home (on gorgeous wood batik stamps from India--ah!) and
like how creamy they are, but do not know how they would hold up in a
classroom situation. Anyone? Anyone?....Beuller?
Another issue is being able to order single color refills--specifically
black and white. Scratchboard uses up SO MUCH black, I want to be able to
reorder just black, but Crayola seems to be the only brand that allows that,
yet I find that crayola-made scratchboard does get flaky. Sigh. I have also
been unimpressed with the Crayola regular white on crayon resist projects.
But I am always eager to hear what others think. Maybe you will sway me
about Crayola!
