Steph, with lessons, you could incorporate artists like Jacob lawrence,
Faith Ringgold, and a multitude of other African American artists-
With Jacob Lawrence, you could emphasize his painting style of flat shapes
or go with the historical aspect, or narrative, etc. My other answer is,
teach from your heart, and they'll respond..
