I worked with my tech person to write a grant for technology and was
thrilled to find out we got $4,000.00 all to be used by me for my art
room. Anyway, as part of the grant, I got a scanner and I'm scanning all
my slides. We have a database set up so I can put in the title and any
keywords do a quick search to pull up any image I might want. I also
got a projector hooked to the ceiling and wired to my computer (from the
grant) so I can show everything on a big screen. Now I won't have the
cart and slide projector and about 12 carousels of slides to deal with.
(That is after I get all the slides scanned) I have the Spectra series
of slides for kdg through 5th grade from many years back and several
other sets. Here is my question-what to do with the slides? I already
gladly turned the slide projector back into the media center. I'm
starting the process of scanning all the slides which will take awhile.
Would anyone be interested in paying shipping to get the slides? I guess
I could bring them in my suitcase to the conference in Chicago and then
have empty space to haul back all the stuff one accumulates. My media
specialist didn't think there would be many folks interested in slides
but I'm thinking not everyone is set up with computers, etc. What would
be a good way to share this resource?
