for arted list serve:
i've been reading this list for awhile, and i just got
a job today in an entirely african american grade
school. i've taught in an african american high school
and even all african american adults, but this part
time position with very few materials is freaking me
out. i'm a fresh art ed grad who knows what she
believes and how to implement that, but as a young
while female, i feel out of place, but honored that i
was accepted for this challenge. my question is: where
should i start w/ kids who haven't had art in a year
and 1/2? i love the school, the students, the staff,
and what's expected of me. it's going to be hard, and
i'm grateful for that. i have plenty of great lessons,
i just don't know how to organize them. ANY advice
would be appreciated. thank you all so much.
