Thanks for all the great ideas. If anyone has
pictures of the artwork they have made from these
materials, please share.
I especially like the ideas of making stamps.. I have
a lot of styrofoam trays too. Also, the rolling yarn
stamps sound cool too.
I would love to see pictures of the love bugs and the
vessels made from egg cartons. Robots sound like fun
too. I'm concerned about having to use hot glue guns
though. Can you make the robots from regular glue?
Will egg cartons stick to tp tubes with regular glue?
Do you have any pictures of your kindergarten relief
sculptures? That sounds really neat. I have a lot of
ideas for 3rd and 4th grade sculpture (since I used to
teach jr. high, and can adapt some of my ideas). But
I'm lacking a bit on the K, 1 and 2 sculpture ideas.
I didn't order enough clay, so I will only have enough
clay for 1 lesson per grade. I made clay
"breadwarmers" with the Kindergartners, coasters with
the 1st graders (holiday gift.. will never do these
again.. it was a nightmare trying to sort out 4
coasters for each child), 2nd grade made awesome coil
pots, 3rd grade is working on storyteller dolls
(wonderful) and 4th grade is making decorative
handbuilt pots (teapots, mugs, vases). I am so amazed
at what these 4th graders can do with clay. They are
at the level that some of my jr. high kids were at.
