Stacie,
If you have access to a computer for your room, buy yourself a cheap
($40 - $60) ink jet printer!! It will be worth its cost in saving you
time and allowing you to be creative with the kids' work. Heck, if you
need a computer, look in the classified ads or Craig's list; people are
giving away PC Pentium 2's and other older machines. You don't
necessarily need to be online in your room, although that would be quite
a bonus.
As for ink, buy it on EBay from one of the ink dealers. Ink at Office
depot for my Epson Color Stylus 600 printer (very old) is $22 for black
and $32 for color. On EBay, I never pay more than $2-3 for black and
$6-10 for color!!
Two papers I used a lot in my computer arts class room were index stock
(think med. Cardstock) and photo glossy paper. Office Depot carries
white index stock in 110 lb. 250 sheet reams for about $12 and 20 sheets
of photo glossy paper for about $6.
There are tons of art projects, like sculpture, altered art, shrines,
etc. that can be constructed with index stock.

No. We have two copy machines in the building, and it is a fight to
use them. Actually we aren't supposed to use them. We are supposed to
leave copy jobs with the copy person. We don't have any color printers
or copiers for use.

You don't have a district printer? We have laser printers networked for
teachers and students to use. If I had to do it on my own printer I
wouldn't do it either, but I figure that as many copies as some of the
other teachers make daily that I am entitled to print their pictures.
