Greetings Art Educators,

Joe L. Dolice, curator for the The Alton Tobey Collection sent me this
link for Social Commentary in Tobey's art:
http://www.altontobey.com/social.html

Scroll to the beautiful composite image of one of our nation's heroes.
You will recognize who it is. I have already told Joe why I can not
use it on my site - but you can use it in your classroom.

Here the artist used published photographs as RESEARCH - and combined
them in a new way. It would be impossible for your students to get
permissions to do such a project. Under the umbrella of Research and
Social Commentary, the use of photographs in this case would be Fair
Use.

Art Teachers have permission to use this image to inspire. Include
copyright notice "(c) Alton S. Tobey, 1988 and title if you use the
image in a PowerPoint.

Joe wants Tobey's work to continue to inspire others.
Home page for the Alton Tobey site:

Lots to see....beautiful work. I just browsed the Latin World fo rthe
first time today:

See Frida and Rivera

Enjoy,

Judy Decker
