Last night I stumbled across the website for Songs in the Key of Art, and I
am delighted and intrigued.
Anyone here own any of the cds? Do you use them in lessons? Do the kids just
love them?
I am eager to have music in the classroom. One of my goals is to start
finding (and of course, start playing) music that is appropriate for certain
artists--I know that Kandinsky was influenced greatly by music...and
Klee...and, of course, Romare Bearden...and so many more....
I would love to get my hands on music that major artists might have listened
to. Or music that might have been inspired by art. Or even just music that
would complement the art-making process. What music do you match with what
media or subject matter? Any suggestions are welcome...I have just begun
formulating ideas, and not done much legwork yet.
And back to Greg Percy. I think I have seen him mentioned here before. I
think my elementary kids would love him, but I'd really love to hear from
some of you all. Thanks!
