Dear Art Educators,

Art teachers need permission from the King Center to use the image of
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr with your students. The Estate holds ALL
rights to use of his image.

I just filled out their license agreement form and will let you know
what I get back from them. It takes 5 to 8 weeks to get an answer.

Here is the address to contact for permission for students to do a
project using the image of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Leslie R. Chavous
Licensing Coordinator
IPM/ The King Estate
449 Auburn Avenue
Atlanta, GA 30314

If anyone was planning to do the micrography lesson this year - DO NOT
do it as you will not have permission to display the work in your
school. Each teacher would need to get permission, from what I
understand. IF I get permission, you can send the images that I put
back on Incredible Art Department to use as examples.

I have updated my lesson plan page and asked Education World to do the same.
PLEASE folks - in the future if anyone contacts you wanting to put one
of the lessons on another site contact me first so I can polish up the
lesson.
I worked like mad to get this one ready after Nora shared it with me.

Believe me, I am not a happy camper here - but I do respect the rights
of the estate. I am hopeful they will continue to allow children to
admire King as their hero.

Regards,

Judy Decker
