[teacherartexchange] Alan Shields

I was looking up some info on artist Alan Sheilds and
was saddened to see that he died just before
Christmas, like the 21st. He was being treated for
emphesyma (sp?) and died in his sleep. Alan was a
wonderful one of a kind artist and person, super
friendly when he visited my grad school and I had the
great fun of assisting him on a project. And he
painted everybody's fingernails. One of the obits said
his teenage daughter asked him to stop painting his
nails in the 1990's so he switched to painting beads.
