[teacherartexchange] Lesson Idea - Online Book (interdisciplinary)

Dear Art Educators,

An artist sent me this link to an on line children's book - and an
idea for a lesson popped into my head.

Creation of an electronic book - for Literacy Week (or Right to Read -
what ever they call it now).

Language Arts student could write the story (geared to early readers).

Art Students do the illustrations (in choice of media - but one that
will photograph well)

Technology students photograph the art and add the text to the
PowerPoint slides - then submit it to the school server (with the help
and approval of the "tech wizard" of course).

Link to the electronic books is given to all elementary teachers in
the district.

The art students will work on making a hard copy of each book for the
school library. Service learning - career learning, too.

Let me know if anyone tries this idea. I would like to put one book on
line -- and of course will add a link to this book that inspired the
idea.
