 Dear Stacie,

Don't give up and don't think it's your fault! It's not your fault!!! The
school is not helping, how can you do your work without supplies??? Like
Betty said, talk to your Union Rep and don't think you have failed!

You will have to find a way to find supplies and maybe come back to old
solutions best used for lower grades, have them bring supplies from home
like old magazines and stuff, and try to work out some idea from that. Maybe
trying to have them do some work 2 by 2? It seems to me that you will not be
able to do art as you would like it with them, unless you get their
attention. I have never had kids so complicated but usually when I have
students with problems, I lower my expectations and ask for less complicated
stuff from them. I try to find fun projects, like someone said "foolproof",
that will get their attention and the work from that.

These kids have probably a very low self esteem, so you will need to boost
their confidence. It's very difficult to do that without supplies (so go to
your Union Rep). And think about very basic art projects. I am sorry, I
don't remember which grade these students are or I would try to give you
some ideas, but you get my point.

Hang in there, it will get better.
