I do have them do self portraits, but most of the students I do this class
with are 9-12 graders. I agree, it's often very difficult some of the jr
high students to really see past their "left brain symbols" on anyone, and
especially themselves! But this project at least helps introduce some of
the concepts that can be built on later.
