Here is a definition of TIFF that I found using Google:
TIFF is an acronym for tagged image file format, one of the most widely
supported file formats for storing bit-mapped images on personal computers
(both PCs and Macintosh computers). Other popular formats are BMP and PCX.
TIFF graphics can be any resolution, and they can be black and white,
gray-scaled, or color. Files in TIFF format often end with a .tif extension.
I suspect that your TIFF file is a very high resolution file and that the
software you are using can not handle this large of a file. The software
application memory is probably set too low. In other words, there probably is
not enough RAM given to the software in order for it to process the image.
If you do not have Photoshop or PhotoElements, Harold's suggestion of using the
free Photoshop-like software may be useful.
I think you need to open the TIFF file in this software recommended by Harold,
if you don't have Photoshop, and then reduce the resolution and also the
physical size of the image. Save it using a different name. Then you can
probably use it in your Hallmark software to print it on a particular place on
a piece of paper. Depending upon the quality of your printer, you could change
it to 300 dpi. If this doesn't work you may not have enough RAM on your
computer and you may need to go back to the people you hired earlier to have
them resize/reduce resolution of the file.
Good luck.
