Thanks for the advice. Yes, I teach both elementary and middle. I would
like to get some good books, but we don't have a library or anything like that,
so I'll either have to buy them myself or check them out from the library. I
have bought a few books. Do you find that even 4th and 5th graders enjoy being
read to? As for sculpture and 3-D, the problem is that I don't have
materials or storage space, so I'm not sure how to work on that. It makes me sad
because I'd love for the kids to work on something cool, but I don't have any clay
or anything like that. I've been thinking of having them make masks, but I
haven't figured out how I would store the stuff. I only have two cabinets, one
is filled with their portfolios, and the other one has supplies. I have some
cabinets beneath the sink and counter, but I keep the paper, cleaning
products and paint supplies under there (even though I'm pretty much out of all of
that now!). I've been thinking about maybe having my middle school students
work in groups so that there would be less projects, but I'm not sure.
