What is the balance in your school of artS. I make that a capital s
because it is easy to talk about the importance of artS education
but not to fund it. How many of your schools have all the artS
represented? What proportion is given to visual arts compared to
the others? Do you think visual art gets its proper share of the
funding? Does every child and teen get visual art, every year in a
carefully sequenced program? You may know about the new blueprint
here in NYC that covers music and visual art, and another on dance
and drama is in the works. You can see it online if you google up
the New York City Department of Education and go to arts education.
